Caramel Sauce

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup brown sugar
  2. 1/2 stick (4 Tablespoons) butter
  3. Pinch of salt
  4. 3/4 cup half and half
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:

To a medium saucepan add brown sugar, half and half and salt. Cook over medium-low heat and stir to combine.

Add butter and stir until the butter is completely melted and the mixture reaches a rolling boil.

Continue to cook until the caramel sauce thickens, about 5 to 7 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Allow to cool about 5 minutes.

Serve warm or pour into an airtight container and refrigerate.
