Firecracker Burgers with Cooling Lime Sauce

Ingredients:

  1. 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  2. 4 sesame seed sandwich rolls, split and toasted
  3. 1 cup mixed greens
  4. 1 Tablespoon curry powder
  5. 1 Tablespoon Caribbean jerk seasoning
  6. 1 teaspoon salt
  7. Sauce:
  8. 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  9. 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  10. 1 Tablespoon fresh lime juice
  11. 2 teaspoons grated lime peel
  12. 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:

Preheat grill to medium heat or prepare coals.

Combine ground beef and curry, jerk seasoning and 1 tsp salt in large bowl, mixing lightly but thoroughly. Shape into four 3/4- inch thick patties. Place patties on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 13 to 15 minutes to medium heat (160 degrees F) until no pink color remains, turning once.

Meanwhile combine mayonnaise, yogurt, lime juice, lime peel and 1/4 salt in small bowl; set aside.

Spread sauce on cut sides of rolls. Place one burger on bottom half of each roll; top evenly with mixed greens. Close sandwiches.
