Peanut Butter Chips and Jelly Bars

Ingredients:

  1. 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1/2 cup sugar
  3. 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  4. 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold butter or margarine
  5. 1 egg, beaten
  6. 3/4 cup grape jelly
  7. 1-2/3 cups (10 oz. pkg.) peanut butter chips, divided
Directions:

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 9 inch square baking pan. Stir together flour, sugar and baking powder in large bowl. With pastry blender or two knives, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add egg; blend well.

Reserve half of mixture; press remaining mixture onto bottom of prepared pan. Spread jelly over crust. Sprinkle 1 c. peanut butter chips over jelly. Stir together reserved crumb mixture with remaining 2/3 cup chips; sprinkle over top.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.
