Linguine with Italian Sausage and Peppers

Ingredients:

  1. 1 pound ground (bulk) Italian sausage
  2. 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  3. 1 medium green pepper, thinly sliced
  4. 1 teaspoon olive oil
  5. 1 can (15 ounce) Italian style diced tomatoes
  6. 1 cup chicken broth
  7. 5 tablespoons tomato paste
  8. 4 teaspoons granulated sugar
  9. 1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
  10. 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  11. 1 box (16 ounce) linguine
Directions:

Heat oil in large skillet to medium hot. Add sausage, peppers, onion; cook until sausage is no longer pink; drain.

Add the tomatoes, broth, tomato paste, sugar, basil and garlic powder; heat through.

While sauce is simmering, cook linguine as directed on package. Drain and serve topped with meat sauce.
