Broccoli Sausage Simmer

Ingredients:

  1. 1 pound fully cooked kielbasa or Polish sausage, cut into 1/4- inch slices
  2. 1 bunch medium broccoli, cut into florets
  3. 1/2 cup sliced red onion
  4. 1 can (14 1/2 ounce) diced tomatoes, undrained
  5. 1 Tablespoon minced fresh basil or 1 teaspoon dried basil
  6. 1 Tablespoon minced fresh parsley or 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  7. 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  8. 1 1/2 cups rotini pasta, cooked as directed on package
Directions:

In a large skillet, saute sausage, broccoli and onion for 5 to 6 minutes or until broccoli is crisp-tender.

Add the tomatoes, basil, parsley and sugar. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile prepare pasta as directed on the package, drain; add to the broccoli sausage mixture.
