Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

A cupcake with it's own little handle

Ingredients:

  1. 1 box your favorite cake mix (prepare the batter as directed)
  2. 30 small flat bottomed sugar cones
  3. 5 cups powdered sugar
  4. 3/4 cup shortening
  5. 1/2 cup butter, softened
  6. 2 1/2 tablespoons milk
  7. 1 1/4 teaspoons almond extract
  8. Assorted candy sprinkles for decorating
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine first 4 ingredients according to cake mix package directions.

Fill each cone with about 2 1/2 tablespoons of batter. Place cones about 3-inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake for 25 - 30 minutes. Cool completely.

For icing, beat all ingredients together in a large bowl until smooth.

Ice each cupcake with about 1 tablespoon of icing. Decorate with candy sprinkles and store in airtight container.
