Nutty Baked Squash

Go nuts with squash

Ingredients:

  1. 2 acorn squash (1 pound each)
  2. 2/3 cup cracker crumbs
  3. 1/3 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  4. 1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
  5. 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  6. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  7. 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions:

Cut each squash in half; remove seeds and fibers. Stir together remaining ingredients; spoon 1/4 of mixture into each half. Place squash in ungreased baking dish, 13-1/2x9x2 inches. Pour water into dish to 1/4-inch depth; cover with aluminum foil. Bake in 400 F. oven 30 minutes or until tender.
