Corn and Pepper Fritters

Yield:
Makes about 24 fritters.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 egg
  2. 1/2 cup milk
  3. 1 can ( 12 ounces ) golden whole kernel corn with sweet peppers, undrained
  4. 1 tablespoon Planters Peanut Oil
  5. 1 1/2 cups unsifted flour
  6. 1 tablespoon baking powder
  7. 1 teaspoon salt
  8. Dash pepper
  9. Planters Peanut Oil
Directions:

Beat egg in large bowl. Stir in milk, corn and 1 tablespoon Planters Peanut Oil. Add and beat in flour, baking powder, salt and pepper. Drop by tablespoonfuls into deep or shallow hot ( 375 F. ) Planters Peanut OIl. Fry until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot. If desired, serve with syrup.
